Clearing jest organizowany przez UCAS (Universities & Colleges Admissions Service), który publikuje informacje na temat gdzie są jeszcze wolne miejsca na uczelniach wyższych. Clearing jest prostym rozwiązaniem dla tych, co nie dostali się na wymarzone studia. Pokazuje dostępne miejsca na uczelniach i informuje jakie uczelnie mają jeszcze wolne miejsce i czy jest możliwość zapisania się.
Ponad 30,000 studentów dostaje się w taki sposób na studia. Z clearingu nie tylko korzystają osoby, które otrzymały słabe wyniki, ale tez te, które złożyły późne aplikacje (po 30 Czerwca). Nawet jeżeli nie dostałeś się na wymarzone miejsce, warto jest skontaktować się z uczelnią i spytać, czy mimo tego zaakceptują twoje podanie.
Clearing zaczyna się 14 sierpnia zaraz po opublikowaniu wyników. Jeżeli jesteś już zapisany do sytemu UCAS będziesz musiał zapłacić dodatkowo £10, aby przejść do systemu clearingu. Jeżeli jeszcze nie masz założonego konta, wejdź na stronę UCAS i zapisz się. Otrzymasz kod sześciocyfrowy, który będzie ci potrzebny w kontaktach z poszczególnymi uczelniami. Parę dni później otrzymasz swój ‘Clearing Passport’, który musisz wysłać do uczelni jeśli zaakceptowali twoja ofertę.
Teraz jest odpowiednia chwila, aby dowiedzieć się o dostępnych kursach. Zostało tylko parę tygodni do rozpoczęcia pierwszych kursów undergraduate.
